City Welcomes Two in Finance Department

Fredericksburg, Texas - The City of Fredericksburg recently hired two FinanceDepartment employees - Betzayda Hernandez as a Utility Billing Analyst/Customer Service Representative and Vanessa Wainwrightas an Administrative Accounting Assistant.

Hernandez is responsible for taking in utility payments, setting up new accounts, and alerting customers of potential water leaks. She is a graduate of Fredericksburg High School and previously worked at H-E-B. Hernandez enjoys spending time with her parents, sister and nephew. She will be replacing Brenda Crenwelge, who has worked in utility billing since 2001 and will retire in October.

Wainwright will be stepping into the role formerly held by Janelle Chapman, who left the City for another opportunity. Her primary responsibilities will include supporting City staff with accounts payable duties, including issuing purchase orders, verifying approval of invoices, and assisting with vendor payments. Other duties will include budget monitoring, assisting with audits, and providing support to the Financeteam.

She worked for Santa Fe (TX) ISD for the past 11 years as the principal's secretary and has an associate degree in Legal Studies/Paralegal. Wainwright has been married to her husband Sonny for 25 years and they have three sons and two grandchildren.

Both Hernandez and Wainwright started their duties in September.
