A heat wave is hitting the Bay Area this week. As the temperatures are expected to be over 100 degrees for much of the week, the City will open formal Cooling Centers from Tuesday, July 2 through Sunday, July 7. For questions during Cooling Center hours call (925) 200-6969.
Water will be available on-site. Senior residents (age 70+) registered with Pleasanton Rides can arrange rides to and from the official cooling center locations, Monday - Friday. Registration in advance is required and can be done by calling (925) 398-1045 or https://blacktietrans.com/pleasanton-rides
The cooling centers will not affect regularly scheduled programming at the library and Senior Center.
Official Cooling Center hours this week:
Residents are always welcome at the Pleasanton Library and Pleasanton Senior Center during their normal operating hours, whether or not they are operating as formal cooling centers. The A/C is on and they are a great place to beat the heat.
Residents are also welcome to visit Alameda County Bay Area Community Services (BACS) cooling center at Valley Wellness Center, 3900 Valley Avenue #B, Pleasanton. BACS hours this week are Monday-Friday 8:30-4:30, closed on Thursday, July 4, 2024.
