Missing Person Open House to Be Held November 6 at the Pueblo Police Department
Pueblo, CO- The Pueblo Police Department and the Colorado Bureau of Investigation (CBI) will host a quarterly missing person open house on Wednesday, November 6, 2024, from 1-8 p.m. The event will be held at the Pueblo Police Department located at 200 S. Main Street in the Community Room.
Families of those missing are encouraged to attend the event. Prior to attending, be sure that the missing loved one has been properly reported missing to the Pueblo Police Department or Pueblo County Sheriff's Office. The purpose of the event is to collect family reference samples from those biologically related to the missing person. A collection of at least two samples per missing person case is preferred from both mother and father, if possible. If either are unavailable, references can be collected from the child of the missing person.
Family reference samples may be collected from more distant relatives if necessary to include siblings, aunts, uncles, cousins, and grandparents. Family members are also encouraged to bring additional medical and dental records for the missing person as well as a photograph.
The collection process consists of a cheek swab and should take no more than approximately 30 minutes. Appointments are not needed. Families are encouraged to attend at a time during the open house that works best for them.
The open house is not open to the media to protect the privacy of families attending.
