Two arrests made in Underage Drinking Initiative

On October 30, 2024, New York State Police conducted an Underage Drinking Initiative in Otsego County.

Two business were found not in compliance and the clerk sold alcohol to an underage operative:

  • Parkview Liquors - Main Street, Richfield Springs
  • Apple Mart - State Highway 28, Cooperstown

Both employees from those locations were charged with the violation of Prohibited Sale of Alcohol to Person Less than 21 (ABC 06-A).

Eight businesses were in compliance and did not sell any alcohol to an underage operative:

  • Stewarts Shop - Main Street, Richfield Springs
  • Mirabito - Main Street, Richfield Springs
  • Speedway - US Highway 20, Richfield Springs
  • Fly Creek General Store/Citgo - State Highway 28, Fly Creek
  • Gasway Convenience Store - Route 28 North, Schuyler Lake
  • Mirabito - Chestnut Street, Cooperstown
  • Rudy's Liquor Store - Main Street, Cooperstown
  • Stewart's Shop - Chestnut Street, Cooperstown

During these investigations, businesses are checked utilizing a Trooper in plain clothes and one or several underage operatives who cannot lie about their age or provide a false date of birth (if asked).
