National Seniors’ Group Endorses Sue Altman for Congress in NJ-7

"The National Committee to Preserve Social Security & Medicare PAC is proud to endorse Sue Altman for election to the House of Representatives in New Jersey's 7th District. Sue Altman has spent her life fighting for working families and will do the same in Congress.

She understands that Social Security and Medicare are earned benefits that working people pay for - and that they deserve to retire with dignity and financial security. Voters in NJ-7 need a representative that they can trust to defend - and enhance - Social Security and Medicare. Throughout her career in public service, Sue Altman has earned that trust.

While her opponent pays lip service to seniors' issues, his record tells another story. Rep. Tom Kean, Jr. supported drastic cuts to programs that seniors rely on when he voted for the Limit, Save, Grow Act of 2023, and backed far-right Speaker of the House Mike Johnson, who has supported cutting Social Security and privatizing Medicare. It's clear where Tom Kean, Jr. truly stands on these issues. New Jersey seniors cannot afford to leave Kean in office as a rubber stamp for the radical Project 2025 agenda.

'Donald Trump and the authors of Project 2025 have a clear vision: drastic cuts and the eventual privatization of Social Security and Medicare. With these threats looming, it's now more important than ever to elect a majority that can be trusted to defend these programs,' says Altman. 'While Tom Kean, Jr.'s vote belongs to Mike Johnson and Republican leadership, I will never waver in my commitment to protecting Social Security and Medicare.'

This election is crucial for the future of both programs- and the National Committee looks forward to seeing Sue Altman and a pro-senior majority elected to Congress this fall." - Max Richtman, President & CEO, National Committee to Preserve Social Security and Medicare
