Minister of Energy met with Director-General of IRENA

Minister of Energy Parviz Shahbazov met with Director-General of the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) Francesco La Camera, who is on a visit to our country.

During the meeting, the sides exchanged views on developing renewable energy capacities and establishing regional green energy corridors in Azerbaijan, the development of green energy technologies, the current state and prospects of cooperation between our country and IRENA.

Cooperation opportunities to promote financing of renewable energy projects through the Energy Transition Acceleration Platform (ETAF) were evaluated. The cooperation within the 29th Session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change-COP29, which will be held in our country this year, and organization of the Investment Forum in Baku were considered. Also, discussions were held around IRENA's initiative on Renewable Energy Road Maps for the Eastern Partnership countries, participation in the fourteenth session of the IRENA Assembly to be held in Abu Dhabi in April this year, as well as other issues of mutual interest.
