North Half of Roosevelt Avenue to Close

AMES, Iowa - The north half of Roosevelt Avenue between 13th and 16th Streets will close on Tuesday, Oct. 22, weather permitting, for pavement removal and replacement.

The intersection of 16th Street and Roosevelt Avenue will also have a partial closure on the south side of the intersection.

The pavement removal and replacement is expected to take four to five weeks. Motorists should allow extra travel time as delays will occur.

The City of Ames has contracted with Manatts for the reconstruction of Curtiss, Marston, and Roosevelt Avenues from 16th Street to 13th Street. The project will include the removal and replacement of the existing roadway, several storm intakes, and spot replacement of sewer and water main utilities on Curtiss Avenue.

Additionally, sidewalk ramps will be updated to meet Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) standards.
