Public and Agency Notice for 2024 Shore Fishery Lease Applications

Public Notice

The Shore Fishery Leasing Program within the Department of Natural Resources is evaluating shore fishery lease new applications and amendment applications submitted during the 2024 application period. The public is welcome to review and comment on the proposed actions. To review the new application materials and view the associated maps, please visit the Shore Fishery Leasing Program website at: https://dnr.alaska.gov/mlw/shore/ and click on the 2024 Applications link under the Shore Fishery Index. Please follow the directions outlined at the end of this notice to submit any comments or protests. The Public Notice period begins December 16, 2024, and the deadline to submit written comments or protests is on or before January 31, 2025. Only those who submit timely written comments may appeal a decision.

This public notice includes the following lease applications within the described fishing districts:

Bristol Bay

Ugashik District

Eric Beeman, ADL 221718 (Amendment)

The proposed lease amendment is to change from two 150-foot nets to one 300-foot net, and slightly shift the net west. The net is located in Bristol Bay, north of Ugashik Bay at Cape Greig and approximately 7.8 miles north of Smoky Point, within protracted Section 31, T28S, R51W, Seward Meridian, Alaska.

Egegik District

Anthony Underwood, ADL 234446

The proposed lease is for one 300-foot net located in Bristol Bay, on the north shore of Egegik Bay, approximately 3/4-mile northwest of Coffee Point, within protracted Section 3, T23S, R50W, Seward Meridian, Alaska.

Ralph Underwood, ADL 234447

The proposed lease is for two 150-foot nets located in Bristol Bay, on the north shore of Egegik Bay, at Coffee Point, within protracted Section 3, T23S, R50W, Seward Meridian, Alaska.

Naknek-Kvichak District

Kendra L. Holstrom, ADL 234414

The proposed lease is for one 300-foot net located in Bristol Bay on the east shore of Kvichak Bay, approximately 1 mile south from the mouth of Naknek River, within protracted Section 17, T17S, R47W, Seward Meridian, Alaska.

Rhett D. Buchanan ADL 234440

The proposed lease is for one 150-foot net located in Bristol Bay on the west shore of Kvichak Bay, approximately 2.5 miles west of Graveyard Point, within protracted Sections 14 & 23, T15S, R47W, Seward Meridian, Alaska.

Greta Horn ADL 234557

The proposed lease is for one 150-foot net located in Bristol Bay on the east shore of Kvichak Bay, approximately 2.5 miles south of the mouth of Naknek River, within protracted Sections 24, T17S, R48W, Seward Meridian, Alaska.

Nushagak District

Danny Togiak, ADL 234416

The proposed lease is for one 300-foot HW/LW net located in Bristol Bay on the west shore of Nushagak Bay, approximately 1 mile south of the mouth of the Igushik River, within protracted Section 16, T17S, R58W, Seward Meridian, Alaska.

Kenneth Coupchiak, ADL 234428

Competing application with ADL 234445 and ADL 234600

The proposed lease is for two 150-foot nets located in Bristol Bay on the east shore of the mouth of the Igushik River, within protracted Section 4, T17S, R58W, Seward Meridian, Alaska.

Tyrone Gamechuk, ADL 234445

The proposed lease is for one 300-foot net located in Bristol Bay on the east shore of the mouth of the Igushik River, within protracted Section 4, T17S, R58W, Seward Meridian, Alaska.

The proposed lease is for two 150-foot nets located in Bristol Bay on the east shore of the mouth of the Igushik River, within protracted Section 4, T17S, R58W, Seward Meridian, Alaska.

The proposed lease is for one 300-foot net located in Bristol Bay on the west shore of Nushagak Bay, approximately 4.5 miles northeast of the mouth of the Igushik River, within protracted Sections 27 & 28, T16S, R57W, Seward Meridian, Alaska.

Krissie Gloko ADL 234605

The proposed lease is for one 300-foot net located in Bristol Bay on the west shore of Nushagak Bay, approximately 4.6 miles northeast of the mouth of the Igushik River, within protracted Section 27, T16S, R57W, Seward Meridian, Alaska.

Joshua Nickerson ADL 234597

The proposed lease is for one 300-foot net located in Bristol Bay on the west shore of Nushagak Bay, approximately 4.7 miles northeast of the mouth of the Igushik River, within protracted Section 27, T16S, R57W, Seward Meridian, Alaska.

Earling Krause ADL 234606

The proposed lease is for one 150-foot net located in Bristol Bay on the west shore of Nushagak Bay, approximately 2 miles south of the mouth of the Igushik River, within protracted Section 21, T17S, R58W, Seward Meridian, Alaska.

Cook Inlet

Central Cook Inlet District

Dustin Solberg, ADL 234524

The proposed lease is for three 210-foot nets located in Cook Inlet, in Tuxedni Channel, on the west shore of Chisik Island, approximately 1.4 miles east of the mouth of Hungryman Creek, within Section 30, T1N, R19W, Seward Meridian, Alaska.

Peter Solberg, ADL 234525

The proposed lease is for three 210-foot nets located in Cook Inlet, in Tuxedni Channel. Two nets are on the west shore of Chisik Island, approximately 1.4 miles north of Snug Harbor. One net is on the west side of Tuxedni Channel approximately 2.6 miles south of Hungryman Creek. Nets are within Section 1, T1S, R20W, Seward Meridian, and Sections 5 & 6, T1S, R19W, Seward Meridian, Alaska.
