SCDOT to temporarily close the SC 283 bridge over Turkey Creek in Edgefield County for repairs

Columbia, S.C. (October 28, 2024) - The South Carolina Department of Transportation will temporarily close the SC 283 bridge over Turkey Creek beginning November 4 to conduct bridge repairs. The closure is anticipated to take a month.

As part of this closure, a signed detour will be posted to direct drivers through the alternate route. Drivers will utilize US 221, US 25 and SC 23. Please note that SC 283 will be open to local traffic only for the duration of the closure.​
