Hawaiian Electric Raises $575 Million in Public Offering of Common Stock

Paul, Weiss advised Hawaiian Electric Industries, Inc., a company engaged in electric utility, banking and renewable/sustainable infrastructure businesses in the State of Hawaii, in a registered public offering of $575 million of common stock. The company intends to use the net proceeds from the offering to fund its contribution to the expected Maui wildfire tort litigation settlement and for general corporate purposes. Wells Fargo Securities, Barclays Capital and Guggenheim Securities acted as joint lead bookrunning managers.
