Roubaix - October 3rd 2024 - OVHcloud, a global cloud player and the European Cloud leader, has been positioned in the Major Players Category in the IDC European Public Cloud Infrastructure as a Service 2024 Vendor Assessment (doc #EUR151035423, August 2024). The IDC MarketScape report evaluated 19 companies in Europe assessing their strategies and capabilities.

OVHcloud was named a "Major Player" two years ago in the IDC MarketScape: Worldwide Public Cloud Infrastructure as a Service 2022 Vendor Assessment (being the only European-headquarter player evaluated). We believe the IDC MarketScape: European Public Cloud Infrastructure as a Service 2024 today confirms the Group's foothold on the European market.

The IDC MarketScape noted, "Digital sovereignty is one of OVHcloud's major strengths, and the vendor can apply this to all levels of sovereignty (data, technical, and operations)."

The IDC Marketscape report also noted OVHcloud sustainability efforts saying, "The company should also be noted for its sustainability efforts. Since 2003, it has been using proprietary water-cooling technology to cool its servers, thus removing the need to operate its datacenters using air conditioning. OVHcloud also uniquely manufactures, disassembles, and upcycles its own servers."

When it comes to OVHcloud product offering, the latest IDC MarketScape study notes: "With adjacent service offerings such as dedicated private servers, web hosting, and hosted private clouds, the firm is potentially an attractive one-stop shop for organizations setting out on their cloud migrations." The breadth of the Group portfolio is acknowledged: "OVHcloud's portfolio features a variety of IaaS offerings, such as a VMware-based bare-metal private cloud service as well as a range of public cloud solutions."

OVHcloud continued investments in adding new services higher in the software stack of its Public Cloud are also recognized: "OVHcloud has made investments in building out software services higher up the stack in areas such as AI/ML, databases, and container orchestration."

"OVHcloud has a unique position as a home-grown IaaS provider in Europe," said Carla Arend, Associate Vice President, Cloud Research, Europe, IDC. "The French company has an international footprint and is particularly notable in the IaaS market for its digital sovereignty and sustainability initiatives."

"We are pleased to have been named a Major Player by the IDC MarketScape European Public Cloud Infrastructure as a Service 2024" said Michel Paulin, CEO OVHcloud. "We believe this report is further proof of our international expansion and encourage us to accelerate our efforts in bringing our Public Cloud services to even more customers, meeting their business needs while spearheading a trusted and sustainable cloud."
