BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee Named a Top Workplace in Middle Tennessee
BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee (BlueCross) has been recognized for the fourth time by The Tennesseanas one of its Top Workplaces in Middle Tennessee,placing sixth out of 18 companies in the 400+ employee category for 2024.
"With 95% of our Nashville staff working remotely, receiving this honor confirms our employees feel connected - whether in the office or at home - and that our mission-driven, inclusive culture is a true strength," said Roy Vaughn,SVP and chief human resources officer, noting that the company previously received this honor in 2018, 2020 and 2022.
BlueCross president and CEO JD Hickey was also recognized during The Tennessean's recent award ceremony, receiving the Leadership Award in the large business category.
The Top Workplaces in Middle Tennessee designation is based solely on feedback provided by Nashville-based BlueCross employees in response to a third-party survey administered by employee engagement technology partner Energage, LLC. An anonymous 24-question survey measured factors such as alignment, execution and connection that are considered vital to overall success in an organization.
More than 251 employers participated in the 2024 survey, with only 111 companies making the final list. Organizations were categorized by size, and those that exceeded benchmark scores for each size group made the winners list. Within those groupings, organizations are ranked by the aggregate score based on the employee feedback - the positivity of employee responses boosted scores and ultimately determined final rankings.
