Culture Days returns!

Vaughan is a city that recognizes and celebrates arts, culture and heritage. As part of this commitment, the City of Vaughan will once again be a Festival Hub for the Ontario Culture Days Festivalthis year with dozens of free community events taking place from Friday, Sept. 20 to Sunday, Oct. 13.

You're invited to help us kick off the celebration at the inaugural Vaughan Food and Culture Festival! This event will take place at Vaughan City Hall (2141 Major Mackenzie Dr.) on Saturday, Sept. 21 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. The official ceremony and flag raising will be held at 1 p.m. Come out for a fun-filled day with plenty of entertainment, including music and dance performances, food trucks, arts and culture activities and so much more. There is something for everyone to enjoy!

There are more than 70 events taking place across various locations in Vaughan this year, including:

  • Cipher | decipher
    • Friday, Sept. 20 to Sunday, Oct. 13 from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
    • Bathurst Clark Resource Library, 900 Clark Ave. W.
  • Vaughan Food and Culture Festival
    • Saturday, Sept. 21 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
    • Vaughan City Hall, 2141 Major Mackenzie Dr.
  • Unity in Diversity: A collaborative mural experience
    • Wednesday, Oct. 9 from 10 a.m. to noon
    • Vellore Village Community Centre, 1 Villa Royale Ave.
  • Doors Open
    • Saturday, Sept. 28 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
    • Maple, Thornhill, Woodbridge and Kleinburg

Culture Days has set aside Monday, Sept. 30 to create space exclusively for events organized to commemorate the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. This includes events sharing First Nations, Métis and Inuit experiences and perspectives that celebrate the creative and cultural expressions of Indigenous people and communities.
