Statement by Congressman Dan Kildee on the Death of Hamas Leader

FLINT-Congressman Dan Kildee (MI-08) issued the following statement on the death of Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar:

"Yahya Sinwar, the leader of Hamas, was responsible for the deaths of thousands of innocent people, including Americans. He was the mastermind of the horrific October 7th terrorist attack on Israel, which took the lives of 1,200 people, including 46 Americans. Hamas is a terrorist organization that has no regard for the sanctity of life of Israeli citizens or Palestinian civilians. The world is a safer place without Yahya Sinwar.

"The war in the Middle East has led to tremendous suffering, regional instability, and thousands of civilian deaths. Hamas has been decimated, and its leader is dead. Our focus must be on efforts to secure the swift release of Israeli and American hostages, ensure humanitarian aid reaches civilians in Gaza, and achieve a lasting ceasefire in the region."
