PALMDALE, CA - The City of Palmdale is opening designated cooling centers to provide relief for residents in response to an excessive heat warning. Temperatures are expected to exceed 100 degrees during this period.
The City urges residents to take precautions during this extreme heat event. It is important to drink plenty of fluids, stay in air-conditioned spaces, avoid sun exposure and check on vulnerable relatives and neighbors. Residents are reminded to never leave children or pets unattended in vehicles, as car interiors can reach lethal temperatures in minutes during hot weather.

They can also call 2-1-1 for emergency preparedness information and other referral services. This toll-free number is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
