On December 17, 2024, State Police members arrested Jacob E. Dahl, age 37, of Wilmington, NY, for 2 counts of criminal possession of a weapon 4th, criminal possession of a weapon 3rd-previous conviction, criminal possession of a weapon 2nd-loaded firearm, criminal possession of a firearm, and assault 3rd.
On December 17, 2024, at approximately 9:49 a.m., Troopers responded to Winch Mountain Way in the town of Wilmington for a physical domestic. An investigation determined Dahl and the victim were involved in a verbal argument, which turned physical when Dahl struck the victim in the face multiple times. The victim sustained two smell lacerations to the forehead and lower lip. The victim declined medical attention. While interviewing both parties involved in the altercation, it was brought to the Trooper's attention that there were firearms in the house. Dahl is a convicted felon and is not allowed to possess firearms.
Dahl was arrested and transported to SP Ray Brook for processing. He was arraigned in the Town of North Elba Court, where he was remanded to Essex County Jail in lieu of $15,000 cash bail or $30,000 secured bond.
