Library College Fair offers information on schools, admissions, aid

Take the first step toward college at the second annual Fort Worth Public Library College Fair hosted by La Gran Biblioteca. The event is set for 1-3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 21, at the main stage at La Gran Plaza de Fort Worth, 4200 South Freeway.

Helpful and friendly staff from universities, community colleges and trade schools will share information about admissions, financial aid, programs and clubs for traditional, nontraditional and transfer students.

Also, learn about the Fort Worth Public Library Foundation's LaunchPad program, which provides free mentoring for Fort Worth high school students to help them with the college application process, from writing college essays to applying for scholarships. Find out more about LaunchPad during an informational session set for 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 25, at the Golden Triangle Branch Library.
