LOS ANGELES, CA - December 11, 2024 - The Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce issued the following statement in response to the Los Angeles City Council's approval of the Living Wage and Hotel Worker Minimum Wage Ordinances.
"The L.A. Area Chamber is deeply disappointed in today's vote to pass the Living Wage Ordinance. This vote jeopardizes jobs, affects workers' economic well-being, and poses risks to the city's future revenue," Maria S. Salinas, President and CEO of the Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce. "Despite this outcome, the Chamber remains committed to advocating for small businesses, many are minority and women-owned, within our neighborhoods and communities who work tirelessly to drive our local economy."
