2024 Halloween Festivities

AUGUST 30, 2024 - With Halloween two months away, the City of Bettendorf is announcing the dates for three of its traditional events, plus the return of a popular event at the Family Museum:

Scarecrow Shenanigans
Date: Sunday, October 20, 1pm-4pm

Scarecrow Shenanigans is back at the Family Museum! Sponsored by The Family Credit Union, this event will feature art (paint a mini pumpkin!), science (dissect an owl pellet!), and all the fun you expect at the Family Museum - balloon twisting, a fall photo op area, plenty of decorations, and a special performance by the Family Museum Dance Company. Tickets will go on sale October 1. This cost of the event is regular admission (free for Family Museum Members, $10 for Non-Members), but you must have a ticket purchased prior to Sunday, October 20.

City Hall-o-ween
Date: Friday, October 25, 9am-11am

This is a free opportunity for children up to 5 years old to test out their costumes and go trick-or-treating in a safe, welcoming, and warm environment. Bettendorf City Hall, located at 1609 State Street, will be decorated and City Staff - including the Bettendorf Police and Fire Departments - will be handing out treats!

Halloween Parade
Date: Saturday, October 26, 6:30pm

This is a great way to get a kickstart filling up your candy bags - without having to move!

NEW ROUTE: Due to the construction of The Landing (www.bettendorf.org/TheLanding), this year's parade route is changing. The parade will begin at 18th Street from Bettendorf Middle School's North Parking Lot. The procession will travel up 18th Street, turn right at Spruce Hills Drive, turn right on Middle Road, and finish in Bettendorf Middle School's South Parking Lot (see route below).

To participate in the parade, register online by clicking here or pick up an entry form at Bettendorf City Hall, 1609 State Street.

Citywide Trick-or-Treating Hours
Date: Thursday, October 31, 5pm-7:30pm

Whether you're handing out treats or going door-to-door, the trick-or-treating tradition takes place citywide for anyone who wants to participate. We hope you have a safe and happy Halloween!
