City of Frederick to Host Special Meeting on New Election Districts

The City of Frederick invites residents to participate in a Special Meeting on Tuesday, December 3, 2024, at 7:00 P.M. at City Hall to discuss the development of new election districts. This meeting is a step forward in implementing the recent charter amendment that establishes five election districts within the city.

Under this new system, each district will be represented by one dedicated City Council member, with two additional at-large representatives.

Residents are encouraged to make their voices heard by:

• Attending the meeting in person to provide public comment.
• Submitting e-comment prior to the meeting.

Following the presentation of the proposed districts, there will be an additional opportunity for public engagement. Residents will have the chance to share their feedback through:

• Public comment at subsequent meetings.
• E-comments submitted online.
• A survey designed to gather community input.
