SNC Technical Services Celebrates Expansion with Inauguration Event in Camuy, Puerto Rico

On July 18, Sitnasuak Native Corporation (SNC) subsidiary, SNC Technical Services (SNCTS) proudly unveiled its newly expanded facility in Camuy, Puerto Rico, marking a significant milestone in the company's growth and commitment to innovation. SNC was represented at the inauguration by SNC Directors Helen Bell and Becka Baker, CEO Charles Fagerstrom, CFO Lesli Smith, VP of Human Resources Heather-Spear Morris, Director of Marketing & Communications Brittany Brown, and Compliance Specialist Holly Poydack.

The expansion project modernizes operations enhancing employee well-being. As part of the first phase, SNCTS upgraded Plant Four. The facility now boasts state-of-the-art workspaces and recreational areas designed to support and improve the work environment for its growing workforce. The upgrades include buried cables for a cleaner look and a rest area equipped with video games, televisions, and other recreational options, enhancing the overall employee experience.

The event was attended by notable guests from the Puerto Rican government, including Hon. Manuel Cidre Miranda, Secretary of Economic Development and Commerce, and Hon. Omar J. Marrero, Secretary of State and Lt. Governor. Secretary Marrero highlighted the significance of the project in his statement, noting, "This center represents an innovative approach to sewing manufacturing in the United States…".

SNCTS' expansion also includes a broader plan to install photovoltaic systems and automate operations across its four plants in Camuy and Orocovis. This initiative aims to modernize the industry, support federal contracts, and ensure long-term sustainability.

The company's commitment to innovation and quality is further demonstrated by its efforts to create a four-day workweek for employees, appealing to the younger workforce between the ages of 18 and 27. Additionally, the installation of renewable energy systems, expected to be completed by mid-2025, underscores the company's dedication to reducing operational costs and environmental impact.
