MoDOT TRAFFIC ALERT: Kansas Expressway (Missouri Route 13) Diverging Diamond CLOSED Over I-44

Where: Kansas Expressway (Missouri Route 13) Diverging Diamond CLOSED over I-44 In Springfield

When: 10 p.m. - 6 a.m. Wednesday & Thursday nights, August 7 & 8

What: Contractor crews to pave Kansas Expressway (Route 13) at night as part of the Kansas Expressway Pedestrian Improvements in Greene Project. Crews will begin paving at Norton Road and will move south. Kansas Expressway will have lane closure where crews are working.

Traffic Impacts:

• Kansas Expressway (Missouri Route 13) diverging diamond CLOSED over I-44 In Springfield during nighttime hours August 7 & 8
• North and southbound Kansas Expressway traffic will be detoured to I-44 at the diverging diamond
• Lane Closures on Kansas Expressway (Route 13) where crew are working
• Drivers urged to find alternate routes
• No signed detours are planned
• Check MoDOT's Traveler Information Map for road closings/traffic impacts

Weather and/or scheduling conflicts could alter the work schedule.

Project Information:

• D & E Plumbing & Heating, Inc., Nixa is doing the work for a low bid amount of $13.3 million and is a cost-share with the City of Springfield.
• The project is to be completed by November 1, 2024.
