Utilities Department releases report highlighting water quality

Published on July 03, 2024

The City of North Port's Utilities Department has released its 2023 Annual Water Quality Report, also known as the Consumer Confidence Report (CCR). This report provides vital information about the quality of drinking water supplied to North Port residents throughout the past year.

The 2023 CCR highlights that the City's drinking water meets or exceeds all federal and state drinking water standards. Designed to provide consumers direct access to a comprehensive chart summarizing the City's year-round testing and monitoring of water from both of our water treatment facilities, the CCR also serves as our annual "report card" approved by the Florida Department of Environmental Protection. The Southwest Water Treatment Facility and the Myakkahatchee Creek Water Treatment Plant produce 1.3 billion gallons of water a year to meet the average 3.6 million gallon per day demand from our nearly 27,000 customer base.

"As our community grows, Utilities staff remains committed to providing consistent and reliable water and wastewater services," Utilities Director Nancy Gallinaro said. "I hope residents take the time to page through the CCR and learn how we're doing it."

Residents with questions or concerns about the 2023 CCR can contact North Port Utilities at 941-240-8000. To view or download the complete CCR, please visit NorthPortFL.gov/CCR.
