Tune Into the WUSB Radiothon on Giving Tuesday

Stony Brook University's WUSB-FM, Long Island's largest non-commercial, free-form radio station, is wrapping up its annual Radiothon with Giving Tuesday on December 3, and the SBU community is encouraged to lend its support.

The station, which has been in operation for 47 years, broadcasts on 90.1 FM and 107.3 FM. Due to a budget shortfall, WUSB needs your financial support to help remain on the air. The end-of-the-year tax-exempt donations - which can be any amount - do not pay any salaries, only operational expenses.

Supporters can make a pledge online or call the office at 631.632.6828 or the radio station at 631-632-6901. WUSB can provide an invoice or take a credit card donation. Hoodies and T-shirts will be given to those making donations of $75 and $50, respectively.

Tune in to WUSB and you'll hear everything from interviews, news, commentary, jazz, pop, punk, metal, electronic, noise, funk, folk, blues, reggae, polka, world music, live music, spontaneous mixes and groovy combustion.

The station also announces thousands of public service announcements each year. These announcements let listeners know about a variety of local resources - including local events, weather emergencies, health information, food pantry locations, art receptions, school closings, and charitable events. It is funded by listener donations as well as by the State University of New York at Stony Brook and the University's Undergraduate Student Government and Graduate Student Organization, and by local business underwriting and grants.
