Yom Kippur is the holiest day of the year in Judaism; it's often referred to as the "Day of Atonement." Following shortly after Rosh Hashanah, Yom Kippur is an important time at the beginning of the Jewish year to reflect, repent, and offer forgiveness. This year, Yom Kippur begins at sundown on Oct. 11 and ends after nightfall on Oct. 12.
