On Wednesday, July 3, 2024, members of the ACI Investigations Unit charged Luther C. Parente, age 40, of last known address 305 Long Highway, Little Compton, Rhode Island, with Fugitive From Justice. The arrest was the result of an investigation conducted by the ACI Investigations Unit. Mr. Parente was arraigned in Third District Court, where he was presented as a Fugitive From Justice out of the State of Massachusetts and he waived extradition proceedings.

On Wednesday, July 3, 2024, members of the ACI Investigations Unit charged Luis D. Medina, age 30, of last known address 159 Hudson Street, Apt. 2, Providence, Rhode Island, with Possession of a Controlled Substance Schedule I-V. The arrest was the result of an investigation conducted by the ACI Investigations Unit and the ACI Special Investigations Unit. Mr. Medina was arraigned in Third District Court and released to the custody of the Sheriffs Department.

On Wednesday, July 3, 2024, members of the ACI Investigations Unit charged Chhaiya Choy, age 35, of last known address 50 Alvin Street, Providence, Rhode Island, with Possession of a Controlled Substance Schedule I-V. The arrest was the result of an investigation conducted by the ACI Investigations Unit and the ACI Special Investigations Unit. Mr. Choy was arraigned in Third District Court and released to the custody of the Sheriffs Department.

On Wednesday, July 3, 2024, members of the ACI Investigations Unit charged Nicholas T. Dubois, age 33, of last known address 35 Hemlock Road, Providence, Rhode Island, with Violation of a No-Contact Order (VNCO). The arrest was the result of an investigation conducted by the ACI Investigations Unit and the ACI Special Investigations Unit. Mr. Dubois was arraigned in Third District Court and released to the custody of the Sheriffs Department.

On Wednesday, July 3, 2024, members of the ACI Investigations Unit charged Steven J. Lafazia, age 22, of last known address 340 Chaplin Drive, Coventry, Rhode Island, with Possession of Controlled Substance Schedule I-V. The arrest was the result of an investigation conducted by the ACI Investigations Unit and the ACI Special Investigations Unit. Mr. Lafazia was arraigned in Third District Court and released to the custody of the Sheriffs Department.

On Wednesday, July 3, 2024, at approximately 5:00am, members of the HIDTA Task Force arrested Quincy DeJesus, age 27, of 13-15 Inkerman Street, 1st Floor, Providence, Rhode Island, for 1) Possession With the Intent to Deliver 1 oz -1kilogram of a Schedule II Controlled Substance - Fentanyl 2) Possession With the Intent to Deliver a Schedule II Controlled Substance - Fentanyl 3) Possession With the Intent to Deliver a Schedule II Controlled Substance - Cocaine. This arrest was the result of the execution of a court authorized search warrant at the conclusion of a narcotics investigation. Mr. DeJesus was transported to the Lincoln Barracks where he was processed and transported to 6th District Court for his arraignment.

On July 3, 2024, at approximately 9:30 AM, members of the Computer Crimes Unit/Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, arrested Charles Czerwein, age 43, of 37 Freeman Street, Attleboro, MA, for 1) Indecent Solicitation of a Child and 2) Electronically Disseminating Indecent Material to a Minor. Mr. Czerwein was transported to the Lincoln Woods Barracks for processing and to 6th District Court for arraignment. Associate Judge Isherwood set $2,500 surety bail with the special bail conditions of restricted Internet access and no unsupervised contact with minors.

On Wednesday, July 3, 2024, at approximately 12:00pm, members of the HIDTA Task Force arrested Jeffrey Dortch, age 56, of 594 Diamond Hill Road, Apt. 1R, Woonsocket, Rhode Island, for 1) Possession With the Intent to Deliver 1 - 5 kilograms of a Schedule I Controlled Substance - Marijuana 2) Possession With the Intent to Deliver a Schedule II Controlled Substance - Fentanyl . This arrest was the result of the execution of a court authorized search warrant at the conclusion of a narcotics investigation. Mr. Dortch was transported to the Lincoln Barracks for processing, was special arraigned by a Justice of the Peace, and turned over to the ACI Intake Center pending future court dates.
