Absentee Ballots Now Mailing for August 6 Primary Election

July 2, 2024 - The Midland City Clerk's Office began mailing absentee ballots this week to registered voters on the Permanent Absent Ballot Mailing list and to voters who had previously requested and returned an absentee ballot application for the August 6, 2024 primary election.

Absentee ballots will arrive by mail in a white envelope with a blue stripe on the left side labeled "Official Absent Voter Ballot". The envelope will contain the ballot, a secrecy sleeve, an instruction sheet, and a postage-paid white envelope with a purple stripe on the left side. The envelope should be signed, sealed, and used to return the completed ballot back to the City Clerk's office.

City of Midland voters can return their completed absentee ballots by:

  • Mailing the signed and sealed postage-paid purple return envelope via United States Postal Service; or
  • Dropping the signed and sealed return envelope in an official ballot drop box in one of the following locations:
    • Outside the Larkin Street entrance to City Hall, accessible 24/7;
    • Outside the main entrance to the Midland Civic Arena (405 Fast Ice Drive), accessible 24/7;
    • Across from the terminal building of the Jack Barstow Municipal Airport (6603 Barstow Drive), accessible 24/7; or
  • Bringing the signed and sealed return envelope to the Early Voting Center at the Grace A. Dow Memorial Library, 1710 W. St. Andrews Road, or the voter's polling location on Election Day.
