TechNet Names Drew Hudson General Counsel and Director of Federal Policy

Washington, D.C. - TechNet, the national, bipartisan network of innovation economy CEOs and senior executives, today announced Drew Hudson is joining the organization as General Counsel and Director of Federal Policy. Based in Washington, D.C., Hudson will play an important role in driving TechNet's federal policy advocacy on key priorities, including trade, tax, supply chains, e-commerce, and financial technologies. He will also lead TechNet's engagement in court cases affecting the tech sector and advise on legal and regulatory matters.

"Drew's experience as counsel, legislative director, spokesperson, and strategic advisor on Capitol Hill and the Department of Justice combined with his understanding of the key issues impacting our industry will strengthen our advocacy across Washington, D.C.," said Linda Moore, TechNet President and CEO. "Drew is a proven leader, and we are thrilled he is joining our team."

Before joining TechNet, Hudson was most recently Legislative Director for Senator Tom Cotton (R-AR), where he was the Senator's primary legal and policy advisor and Chief Counsel on the Senate Judiciary Committee. Hudson also served as counsel on the Senate Judiciary Committee for former Senator Jeff Sessions (R-AL), and as a member of the 2016 Presidential Transition Team for the Trump Administration. Prior to joining Senator Cotton's staff, Hudson held several roles in the Department of Justice, including counsel and spokesperson. Before beginning his public service career, Hudson also worked for several years at a private law firm in Alabama.

"TechNet's federal team will benefit tremendously from Drew's years of experience in policy and law. He has a proven track record of building coalitions and advancing pro-innovation legislative priorities. We are thrilled to have him as a key member of our successful federal advocacy team and look forward to working with him to enact policies that will ensure America wins the next era of innovation," said Carl Holshouser, TechNet Executive Vice President.

"In my roles on Capitol Hill and with the Justice Department, I have seen firsthand the important work TechNet does to advocate for policies that grow our economy, advance innovation, and strengthen America's global competitiveness. TechNet is one of the most impactful organizations in Washington and across the 50 states, and I am thrilled to join Linda, Carl, and the great team they've assembled," said Hudson.

Hudson holds a Juris Doctor from the University of Alabama School of Law, a Master's degree from Regent University, and a Bachelor of Arts from Thomas Edison University. He is a member of the Alabama State Bar and the Supreme Court Bar.
