Maine Dems Statement Ahead of RNC Chairman’s Visit

Maine Democratic Party Chair Bev Uhlenhake released the following statement:

"Donald Trump handpicked Michael Whatley to head the RNC because of his shared commitment to spreading lies and false claims about the results of the 2020 election. Since being selected as RNC Chair, he has repeatedly refused to commit to accepting the results of this November's election if Trump loses. It is ludicrous to pretend he is here to 'protect' Maine's vote while he cheered on a conspiracy to throw away the votes of the nearly 830,000 Mainers who cast ballots in the 2020 presidential election.

"Maine's elections are safe, secure, fair, and accurate. Maine Democrats are committed to protecting Mainers' freedom to vote, and will continue to stand up to Republican attempts to restrict eligible voters' access to the ballot box in Maine."
