Foreign Minister Diana Mondino visited the 136th International Livestock, Agriculture and Industry Exhibition, together with national authorities, ambassadors and foreign representatives accredited in Argentina.

The Foreign Minister highlighted the centrality of the Argentine agro-industrial sector as a source of resources, a generator of jobs and a promoter of technological innovation. She also referred to the great export potential of the sector reflected in the motto of the 136th edition of the Exhibition: "The countryside is much more than the countryside." ("El campo es mucho más que campo").

The group toured the fair site including visits to agricultural machinery companies, the Institute for the Promotion of Argentine Beef (IPCVA) and the bovine breeds pavilion.

Over time and given its international prestigious record, the Rural Exhibition has become the true agricultural business center, concentrating standing, virtual and televised auction activities; conferences and technical visits for producers; bovine genetics forums and international business rounds. Furthermore, the Agtech Show offers a networking area for national companies and startups that make up the technological ecosystem of the sector.

All in all, activities linked to agribusiness (animal feed, agricultural machinery, agrochemicals, fertilizers and biodiesel), represented US$ 1,464 millions of Argentine exports in 2023. In 2022, it reached US$ 3,223 millions, which shows the potential that our country's technology has in these and other associated areas such as genetics, biotechnology and the development of new seeds. It is important to highlight the diversity of markets to which these exports are directed, including Brazil, the Netherlands, Chile, Uruguay, Paraguay, Bolivia, Canada, the United States and Belgium.

Minister Mondino was accompanied by the Secretary for International Economic Relations, Marcelo Cima; the Secretary of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries, Sergio Iraeta; the Undersecretary of Promotion of Exports, Investments, Education, Science and Culture, Ramiro Velloso and the Undersecretary of Agricultural Markets and International Negotiations, Agustín Tejeda Rodríguez. The President of the Argentine Rural Society (SRA), Nicolás Pino, hosted the event.
