The Bureau of Indian Affairs – Eastern Oklahoma Region Honored with Prestigious Pulaski Award

ADA, Okla. - The Oka' Institute at East Central University, in collaboration with the Chickasaw Nation, proudly presented the prestigious Pulaski Award on behalf of the National Interagency Fire Center to the Bureau of Indian Affairs, Eastern Oklahoma Region. This award recognizes their exemplary efforts in wildfire management and safety.

Named after the legendary Ed Pulaski, who heroically led a group of firefighters to safety during the Great Fire of 1910, the Pulaski Award recognizes outstanding contributions to wildfire management and safety. This year, the award was presented to the Bureau of Indian Affairs Eastern Oklahoma Region for their initiatives in wildfire prevention, management, and community safety.
