Sheriff's Office saddened by the passing of longtime member

We are deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Arlene Bain, a longtime member of the Washington County Sheriff's Office. Arlene's dedication and service spanned numerous roles, including Special Deputy, Matron, Pistol Permit Clerk, Deputy Sheriff, Corrections Officer, Account Clerk, Court Attendant, and more. Her impact extended beyond our agency, as she also served the Village of Greenwich as a police officer/matron.

Arlene's contributions went even further as she took on the role of Director for several Zone 5 sanctioned police academies, helping to shape the careers of countless law enforcement professionals who have gone on to serve Washington County and beyond.

Known for her kindness, compassion, and unwavering commitment to service, Arlene was a shining light in our office and community. She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Our thoughts are with her family, friends, and colleagues during this difficult time.
