Paulding County: Construction Update

U.S. 24 pavement rehabilitation: The U.S. 24 pavement rehabilitation project began in May 2024 and is expected to continue through September 2025.The project will crack and seat the concrete pavement and resurface with asphalt on U.S. 24 in both directions between U.S. 127 and Baltimore Street; and also includes slope erosion repair along the U.S. 127 eastbound entrance ramp.

PAVEMENT REPAIR TRAFFIC IMPACTS

  • U.S. 24 in both directions
    • Currently restricted to the left, passing lane (max-width 11.5 feet)
  • CR 115
    • Now open across the divided highway
  • U.S. 24 eastbound ramps at U.S. 127
    • Now open
  • U.S. 24 westbound ramps at U.S. 127
    • Closed Wednesday, July 17, for approximately 30 days for pavement repairs.
      • Exit ramp to U.S. 127 detour:U.S. 24 west to SR 49, to U.S. 24 east
      • Entrance ramp from U.S. 127 detour:U.S. 24 east to Baltimore St, back to U.S. 24 west

SLOPE EROSION REPAIR TRAFFIC IMPACTS

  • U.S. 127 eastbound entrance ramp to U.S. 24
    • The 90-day closure for slope repair is postponed until further notice. The eastbound entrance ramp will be closed when the U.S. 127 westbound ramp is reopened.
      • Expected detour: U.S. 24 west to SR 49, back to U.S. 24 east (see map).
  • U.S. 127 at the U.S. 24 interchange
    • The southern side of the interchange will be restricted to alternating one-way with a traffic signal and barrier wall/barrels (pavement max-width 13 feet) beginning on July 17 for approximately 90 days.
State Route 49 pavement repair:State Route 49 between the village of Antwerp and the Defiance County line will be restricted to one lane through the work zone for pavement repair on the following schedule:

  • Week of July 15: SR 49 between Antwerp and the Defiance County line.
