DEN’s Pikes Peak Shuttle Lot Fully Reopens

Longs Peak Shuttle Lot to Close for Public Parking

DENVER - October 15, 2024 - The Pikes Peak shuttle lot at Denver International Airport (DEN) is now fully reopened following approximately six months partial closures due to construction activities. The newly rehabilitated lot was previously covered with asphalt. It now features concrete pavement covering a total of 70 acres. The Pikes Peak lot's full reopening allows drivers access to a total of 9,000 parking spaces. During construction, the lot was reduced to 4,500 parking spaces.

The full reopening of the Pikes Peak shuttle lot allows DEN to transition the Longs Peak shuttle lot into occasional overflow parking. The Longs Peak lot, open for daily customer use, will soon close to customers and will only be re-opened to the public when the Pikes Peak lot reaches capacity during especially busy travel days.

"The improved Pikes Peak shuttle lot will allow us to accommodate even more drivers in advance of the end-of-year holiday travel rush," said Mark Nagel, DEN senior vice president of parking and commercial transportation. "Returning to full capacity at our most cost-effective parking area improves our ability to provide our customers with a variety of parking options at DEN."

Parking at the Pikes Peak lot costs $8 a day. Shuttle bus service frequency is roughly every seven to 10 minutes and available 24/7. Visit DEN's website for the latest information on parking availability.

Accessing the Pikes Peak Shuttle Lot

Due to ongoing Peña Boulevard corridor construction, inbound traffic heading toward the Pikes Peak shuttle lot must exit at E 75th Avenue, which is the first posted cell phone lot exit (approaching Gun Club Road, just east of E-470). Drivers on Jackson Gap will not be able to travel westbound on 75th to the Pikes Peak shuttle lot.

To access the Pikes Peak shuttle lot from the Terminal, using outbound Peña (leaving westbound from DEN), drivers will need to exit Peña at Jackson Gap and travel north on Jackson Gap to westbound E 78th Avenue. Then, drivers must proceed to southbound Gun Club Road.

Additional information and maps are provided in this press release. This temporary configuration is anticipated to last through mid-November.
