UNF gears up to celebrate 904 Day

The University of North Florida is joining the Jacksonville community in celebrating 904 Day. This annual event, named for the local area code, is a grassroots movement that has been celebrated for several years. Northeast Florida residents, local businesses and organizations participate in numerous ways to highlight the unique culture and vibrant community of Jacksonville and the surrounding areas.

Going beyond campus, UNF is encouraging students, faculty and staff to support Jacksonville's local economy by visiting UNF alumni-owned businessessuch as, but not limited to:

  • INK Brewery:In celebration of 904 Day, INK Brewery, a microbrewery and espresso bar co-owned by Aaron Meisenheimer ('00) in Jacksonville Beach, and UNF Athletics are revealing a Swoop Session IPA on Thursday, Sept. 5; tapping begins at 5 p.m. and music will start at 6 p.m.
  • Arble Baking Company:Located in the Dunn Village shopping center in North Jacksonville, swing by this family bakery and see Monica Anderson ('06) and her siblings in action.
  • DOS Coffee & Wine:A favorite for locals and travelers alike, this alumni-owned business is run by former women's tennis athlete Julie Stopelli Jacobson ('05) and her husband. Starting Sunday, Sept. 1, pumpkin spice will be available at both the St. Augustine and Town Center locations.
  • Smallcakes Cupcakery and Creamery:With three Jacksonville locations, Stacie ('99) and Brian Smith ('97, '99) are serving sweet tooth fanatics with over 20 flavors of gourmet cupcakes, cookies, brownies, ice cream and custom cakes for special events.
  • Historically Hoppy:A beer for every palate, taste one of the 44 different brews crafted by Aaron Leedy ('08, '12, '24), Natalie Hofmann ('12), Ryan ('14) and Briann McFarland ('14).

The University also invites everyone to fully engage in 904 Dayby exploring public spaces, shopping at local businesses, discovering new neighborhoods, attending local art shows and concerts, donating to nonprofits and inspiring others to join in the celebration.
