Construction Advisory: Union City Boulevard Bike Lanes Project

Construction continues to be underway for the Union City Boulevard (UCB) Bike Lanes Project. The project is reconstructing the median to accommodate new buffered bike lanes, a shared use pathway, streetlight and traffic signal improvements, upgraded striping and signage, upgraded pavement surface, installing new storm drain inlets, and new landscaping.

With schools resuming session on August 7, 2024, please be advised that delays should be expected when traveling in the vicinity of active construction areas. Travelers should exercise heightened caution and slow down for the safety of school children, workers, and all. Allow for additional travel time to and from your destination.

There may be temporary lane closures, traffic shifting, sidewalk and curb ramp closures, and/or detours in place to route travelers around certain segments. Watch for posted signage and pavement delineation, as well as portable changeable message signs, to guide pedestrians, cyclists, and motorists.

The City appreciates everyone's patience and cooperation as work continues for the UCB Bike Lanes Project. Every effort will be made to minimize inconvenience to the public.
