For Immediate Release: Aug. 28, 2024

DALLAS - To enhance safety at athletic events, Dallas ISD now requires students attending district-hosted games without an adult to present a student ID badge. This requirement extends to visiting non-Dallas ISD schools. Students without a school-issued ID and Dallas ISD students from other high schools will not be permitted entry unless accompanied by an adult. These measures will apply to all district athletic facilities and align with neighboring districts' protocols.

District partnership prepares students for swimming success
Dallas ISD and Dallas Aquatics are partnering to offer free swimming classes for students ages 6 to 18 at select district natatoriums during the school year. The program will also help prepare middle and high school students for swim team tryouts and lifeguard training. The first session begins on Wednesday, Sept. 4.

Schools promote attendance awareness with fun activities
Dallas ISD is excited to kick off Attendance Awareness Month with fun activities to promote good attendance habits. Every Wednesday, beginning Sept. 4, students and district team members are encouraged to participate in attendance-themed dress-up days to highlight the importance of school attendance and its impact on academic success.
