National Night Out Brings Neighbors Together with Police

BOULDER, Colo. - The community is invited to join the Boulder Police Department for the annual National Night Out on Tuesday, August 6!

National Night Out is an annual event that helps to build camaraderie between community members and police officers in a casual setting and allows for meaningful conversations under positive circumstances.

This year BPD is thrilled that our wonderful Emergency Response Connectors will be co-hosting this great event with us along with the Boulder County District Attorney's Office, Boulder Fire-Rescue, Open Space and Mountain Parks, and other city departments and community groups who will provide information and resources about their services. There will also be food trucks, bike registration, games, dancing, and some fun surprises for the kids!

Join us, Tuesday, Aug. 6 from 5-8 p.m. at Foothills Community Park, 800 Cherry Ave.

"This is one of my favorite community events every year because of how it brings all of us together for a fun and happy time," Interim Boulder Police Chief Stephen Redfearn said. "It's a great opportunity for our community members to get to know their police officers and their neighbors. National Night Out provides us a chance to talk with folks, answer their public safety questions and show them some of our different police department units, such as K9, drones, traffic and more. We're looking forward to seeing everyone!"

National Night Out started in 1984 and has since swept across the nation. It is an annual event held in all 50 states, U.S. territories, Canada and military bases worldwide, involving more than 15,000 communities and 37 million volunteers, residents and civil servants.
