Between March 18 and 27, Professor Claudia Martin taught a course about Human Rights in the Inter-American Human Rights System in the Master 2 about Human Rights and the European Union at Paris 1, Pantheon Sobornne University.
On March 20, 2024, Profesor Claudia Martin moderated a panel about Women Human Rights Defenders Fighting for Women's Rights: The Haitian Crisis, as part of the activities commemorating the Month of Women's Rights organized by the Academy on Human Rights and Humanitarian Law.
On March 2027, 2024, Professor Claudia Martin gave a conference at the Ecole de Droit de La Sorbonne-Université Paris 1 Pantheon on comparative national and international developments related to the right to abortion, under the standards of the Inter-American Human Rights System.
On April 4, 2024, Professor Martin moderated a panel about "What is happening in Myanmar?", organized by the Academy on Human Rights and Humanitarian Law. On April 11, Professor Martin participated as a speaker at the VI Forum of the Inter-American System, in the panel on Emerging Issues, organized by the Inter-American Court and Commission on Human Rights.
Between April 25 and 26, Professor Martin participated in the Advisory Board meetings of "Dissect", a research project on evidence in international human rights adjudication, under the supervision of Professor Marie-Bénédicte Dembour at Ghent University in Belgium.
In May 3, 2024, she participated as a lecturer in the Master's Degree in Human Rights and Guarantees of the ITAM in Mexico, where she presented a draft of her work before the faculty professors on parallel jurisdictions in the Inter-American region, which covers human rights and arbitration courts in the extractive industry and addressed the work of the Independent Panel to Evaluate Candidates for Organizations of the Inter-American Human Rights System before Masters students.
On May 23, 2024, she participated as an exhibitor with the Rule of Law Program for Latin America of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation (KAS), in collaboration with the Inter-American Commission of Women (CIM), in the official presentation of the unpublished work, "the Convention of Belém do Pará: comments on its history, developments and current debates", which compiles jurisprudence and practice on the Convention; work in which Professor Claudia Martin also contributed the chapter called "obligations regarding access to justice and reparation: article 7, literals f and g, of the Belém do Pará Convention" that integrated the reference work.
Between January and June of 2024, Professor Martin supervised the team of the Independent Panel to Evaluate Candidates to the Inter-American human Rights System bodies that culminates its work with the presentation of the Panel's Final Report on the candidacies that were presented to occupy three positions in the Inter-American Human Rights Court. In addition, Professor Martin moderated the public presentation of the report that took place on May 28, 2024 at American University Washington College of Law.
During the Program of Advanced Studies On Human Rights and Humanitarian Law hosted the Academy on Human Rights and Humanitarian Law between May 27 - June 14, 2024, Professor Martin co-taught clases in the course, Inter-American Human Rights Systems.
As part of Human Rights Month, on June 7, Professor Martin moderated the panel commemorating Professor Antonio Cançado Trindade's career in the presentation of his book "International Law of Human Rights", co-authored by Professor Damián A. González-Salzberg. In addition, on June 11, 2024, she moderated the panel on "Challenges and Setbacks in the Rule of Law and Democracy in Latin America: What role should the Organization of American States play in countering them?". Finally, on June 12, 2024, she moderated the panel on celebrating Professor Carlos Ayala's book, "Towards an International Justice for Human Rights".
Between July 1 and 12, 2024, Professor Martin directed along with Professor Diego Rodriguez-Pinzon the International Human Rights Law Program in Geneza, Switzerland organized by American University Washington College of Law. Also during this time Professor Martin taught the course International Human Rights and Humanitarian Law: Practical Challenges for J.D. and LL.M. students from American University Washington College of Law.
On July 8, 2024, during ICON•S 2024 in Madrid Spain, Professor Claudia Martin participated as a panelist in the presentation of the book "Towards an International Constitutional Justice of Human Rights", authored by Professor Carlos Ayala, which addresses a new synthesis of international constitutional justice of human rights.
On September 4, 2024, Professor Martin presented her academic work titled "Parrallel Jurisdictions in the Inter-American System", at the workshop about "Parallelism before International Courts and Tribunals", during the ESIL 2024 Annual Conference in Vilnius, Lithuania.
On September 12, 2024, Professor Martin moderated the panel, "Environment and Human Rights: The Case of The Oroya, organized by the Center for Human Rights and Humanitarian Law and the Academy on Human Rights and Humanitarian Law at American University Washington College of Law.
On September 20, Professor Martin participated in the symposium about The Voices of Women in International Law, sponsored by the Women Law Students Organization (WLSO) of the Washington & Lee University School of Law, where she shared points of view and experiences on the role of women in the international sphere.
Between August 2023 and October 2024, Professor Martin presided over the Arbitration Panel created to determine the monetary reparations in the case of Guillermo Santiago Zaldívar v. Argentina (Caso 12.289). The Panel was created as a result of an amnesty solution that was reached between the complainants and the Argentinian Government under the auspices of the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights. Other panel members include Dr. Alicia Noli and Dr. Manuel Garrido, who were both appointed. The Panel adopted the decision on October 21, 2024.
During 2024, Professor Claudia Martin continued her work as a member of the campaign, GQUAL, and in that capacity she participated as an exhibitor in the launch of General Recommendation No. 40 about equal representation and inclusivity of women in decision-making spaces adopted by the Committee on the Elimination of Discrimination against Women (CEDAW) on October 25, 2024 in Geneva.
On November 7, 2024, Professor Martin participated as a speaker at the event "Is Venezuela part of the Inter-American System on Human Rights? - The experts discuss", organized by the Academy on Human Rights and Humanitarian Law and the Due Process Foundation. On November 11, Professor Martin moderated the panel "About Resistance and Solidarity - The Women's Movement, Life, and Liberty in Iran", organized by the Academy on Human Rights and Humanitarian Law and the LL.M. Board of American University Washington College of Law.
On November 12, 2024, Professor Martin participated in the panel on Challenges of Human Rights in the Regional Context in the event organized by the Academy on Human Rights and Humanitarian Law, along with vital organizations in the litigation of the Inter-American Human Rights Systems, including #Article19, #CELS, #DeJusticia, #Conectas and #WOLA.
On December 6, 2024, Professor Martin participated as a speaker in the course about Right to Non-Discrimination organized by the faculty from law from NOVA University in Lisbon, Portugal.
Lastly, in 2024 Professor Martin has continued her work as one of the coordinators of ReLeG (Red Latinoamericana de Litigio Estratégico en Género). At present and in that capacity she oversees the financial support donated to ReLeG for the initiative #ACTUEMOS de ONU Mujeres y la Unión Europea.
