IME Touched Higher Records in Value and Volume of Trades

Within the week ending on July 26, 2024, the IME witnessed trade of 2,437,945 tonnes of commodities with a total trading value of nearly 638 million USD, posting growths of 10% and 25% in volume and value of trades compared with the week before that.

According to a report by the IME's International Affairs and PR, the exchange saw on its metals and minerals trading floor trade of 1,989,009 tonnes of commodities worth more than 296 million USD.
On this floor the IME sold 943,394 tonnes of cement, 553,000 tonnes of iron ore, 296,770 tonnes of steel, 177,700 tonnes of sponge iron, 14,900 tonnes of aluminum, 2,670 tonnes of copper, 360 tonnes of zinc, 200 tonnes of molybdenum concentrate, 15 tonnes of precious metals concentrate and 20 vehicles.

Furthermore, the exchange saw trade of 443,213 tonnes of commodities worth nearly 203 million USD on both domestic and export rings of its oil and petrochemical trading floor.

Commodities traded on this floor included 158,625 tonnes of bitumen, 113,450 tonnes of vacuum bottom, 86,700 tonnes of polymeric products, 37,550 tonnes of chemicals, 30,000 tonnes of lube cut, 13,060 tonnes of sulfur, 2,668 tonnes of oil and 160 tonnes of feedstocks.

The IME also traded within the same week 3,722 tonnes of goods on its side market.
