Fargo Public Library to Food Preservation Bingo Events August 19 and 23

Sessions are scheduled at the Dr. James Carlson Library and the downtown Main Library

Are you planning to preserve some of your fruits and vegetables from your garden, but not sure the proper way to do it? Canning best practices have changed a lot over the years and what your grandmother wrote down in her recipe book might not be the best advice to follow. Learn about safe canning practices while playing a fun game of BINGO at informational events titled "Canning: It's Not Like Your Grandma Used To Do Facts and Myths BINGO," presented by Rita Ussatis, Cass County and NDSU Extension Agent.

Two canning bingo sessions are planned at the following times and locations:
• Monday, Aug. 19, at 4:30 p.m. at the Dr. James Carlson Library
• Friday, Aug. 23, at 11 a.m. at the downtown Main Library

These sessions are designed to help residents figure out the best and safest ways to preserve the bounty from their gardens. These event are most appropriate for adults and teens (16+). For more information on the program, call Allison at 701.241.1492.
