SECU Wins The Baltimore Sun’s Top Workplaces Award

SECU has recently been named a Top Workplace of 2024 by The Baltimore Sun. SECU has been featured on the list for four consecutive years, having been recognized in 2023 as a top Midsize Employer and winner in the Cultural Excellence category in 2022 and 2020. Additionally, in 2021, SECU earned the title of Innovative Workplace.

The Top Workplace honor is determined by employee feedback from anonymous surveys collected by third-party, Energage. Surveys collected measure employee satisfaction across several sectors of workplace culture including pay and benefits, flexibility, purpose and connection.

"At SECU, we take great pride in being an organization that puts people first always - not only with our members but our employees as well," said Dave Sweiderk, SECU President and CEO. "This recognition is a testament to the culture of integrity, teamwork, support and engagement we continue to foster every day. We are honored to receive this award for the fourth consecutive year and will continue to stay committed to the success of each and every individual in our SECU community."

The Baltimore Sun annually honors the region's top workplaces, with 2024 being the news outlet's 14th year offering this title. These awards highlight employers in the Baltimore area that provide extraordinary work environments, that inspire and motivate their employees. Employers are recognized for this honor when their employees share positive experiences about workplace culture through the anonymous survey.

"Top Workplaces awards are a celebration of good news," Energage CEO Eric Rubino said. "They exemplify the significance of a people-first workplace experience, reminding us that employees are the heart of any thriving organization."

The Top Workplaces Award joins a growing list of accolades for SECU in 2024, including Newsweek's list of America's Best Regional Banks and Credit Unions and Forbes' Best-in-State Credit Unions, both based on independent surveys and analysis of credit unions' overall wellness, products and services, consumer feedback, sentiment and more.
