GBI Arrests Fitzgerald Woman in Child Death Investigation

Ben Hill County, Fitzgerald, GA (July 25, 2024) - The GBI has arrested and charged Kelsey Monaco, age 30, of Fitzgerald, GA, with Cruelty to Children and Felony Murder.

On Wednesday, July 24, 2024, the Fitzgerald Police Department asked the GBI to investigate the death of a 4-year-old child. The child left his apartment unsupervised and eventually got inside a car. He was later found unresponsive inside in the car. He was taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Monaco was booked at the Ben Hill County Jail.

This investigation is active and ongoing.
