Councillor Michael McCormick, Inverclyde Council's convener of environment and regeneration, said: "We have a talented and skilled workforce here in Inverclyde and a variety of organisations from near and far who are actively recruiting so the jobs fair is the ideal way to bring employers and prospective employees under the one roof to discuss work opportunities.

"Whether people are looking to get back into work or seeking new opportunities, the event provides a platform to speak directly with hiring managers about what's on offer and also get useful hints and tips from experts to help with applying for jobs and preparing for interviews.

"This was the fourth Inverclyde Jobs Fair and congratulations to the council's employability service and partners on another successful event aimed at helping our residents find work and supporting businesses with recruiting new talent."

The jobs fair ran from 10am until 12.30pm and was open to people looking for employment, self-employment opportunities or even considering a career change.

As well as a host of potential employers in attendance, there were also training providers there on the day promoting a training programmes.

There were representatives from a variety of sectors, including: construction, hospitality, security services, transport, manufacturing, care, administration, and customer service.
