CITY OF BROCKTON TO HOST PUNK ROCK LEGENDS NOFX IN THE BAND'S FINAL NEW ENGLAND SHOWS
Los Angeles band wraps up 40-year career with 'Punk in Drublic' farewell tour that includes two-day stop at Brockton's Campanelli Stadium this weekend; Mayor Robert F. Sullivan to honor NoFX and Dropkick Murphys

BROCKTON - Los Angeles punk legends NoFX's last-ever New England appearances will take place at Campanelli Stadium in Brockton on Saturday and Sunday as the group concludes an incredible 40-year career with the "Punk in Drublic" farewell tour.

The influential West Coast punk rockers last played in Brockton in 2003 at the Vans Warped Tour at the Brockton Fairgrounds and chose the City of Champions as the site for their final New England shows on this tour. Mayor Robert F. Sullivan will present the band with a proclamation before their final set on Sunday night at Campanelli Stadium, a ballpark owned by the City of Brockton. He will also honor Dropkick Murphys, a popular Boston Irish punk band also on Sunday night's bill.

"NoFX has a long history in New England and has influenced countless musicians, skaters and artists in Brockton and the region for four decades," Mayor Sullivan said. "It's only fitting they come full circle - 21 years after their last Brockton show - and conclude their incredible run here in the City of Champions. Congrats to NoFX on an amazing career and good luck on your final tour."

The Brockton shows are the band's last U.S. dates before they conclude the Punk in Drublic tour Oct. 4, 5 and 6 in the band's hometown of L.A.

The band, which includes Fat Mike (vocalist/bassist), guitarists Eric Melvin and El Hefe and drummer "Smelly" Eric Sandin, is known as one of the world's most controversial and significant punk bands of their time. NOFX formed in Los Angeles in 1983 and went on to sell over 6 million records worldwide, including two records that went gold in the US and Canada.

"We've played over 2,000 shows in 33 countries, in more than 300 cities and darn it…we're a bit tired," Fat Mike said. "One thing I know in my heart, this is going to be the most emotional, heartbreaking, greatest tour of our career. I've never been so excited and at the same time terrified. Mostly excited."
