Hall County to host ribbon cutting at new medical building on Butler campus

Hall County Government will host a ribbon cutting ceremony Wednesday, Sept. 25 at 2 p.m. to celebrate the grand opening of the new medical office building adjacent to the Hall County Health Department located on the Butler campus at 1290 Athens Street in Gainesville.

"This is an exciting milestone for the Health Department Campus project and for the citizens of Hall County," Hall County District 4 Commissioner Jeff Stowe said. "This new state-of-the-art building will help serve the growing population and provide our citizens with the quality care they want, need and deserve."

Northeast Georgia Physicians Group has leased the new 8,000-square-foot medical office building and moved its primary care services that were at the Hall County Health Department to the new building.

"With this move, we've also renamed our practice NGPG Community Clinic, as we feel that name encompasses everything our clinic is about," Georgina Kalaitzidis, MD, a longtime physician at NGPG Community Clinic, said. "We're here for the community and excited to be in this new space, offering our patients access to care in a beautiful environment."

Construction of the building, along with civil work such as new parking spaces, an access drive to the preexisting facility and a drive-thru clinic component, complete the first phase of the overall Health Department Campus project.

"Now that NGPG has moved into the new facility, phase two work can begin on the preexisting building, which will expand square footage for the Health Department and upgrade the facility with state-of-the-art renovations," Stowe said.

Phase two of the project is expected to be completed in 2025.

The total budget for the Health Department Campus project is $10.9 million and is funded by the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) and Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax (SPLOST).

Dr. Kalaitzidis, along with Babette Irizarry, MD, and Samantha Wilson, PA, are currently accepting new patients at the new NGPG Community Clinic on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. and from 7 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. To schedule an appointment, please call 770-219-9400.

Light refreshments will be served at the ribbon cutting, and guests will have an opportunity to tour the new facility during the event.
