Neighbors Across the Globe Join Forces for Nextdoor in the Neighbo(u)rhood Day

On Wednesday, July 17th, Nextdoor celebrated its annual Nextdoor in the Neighbo(u)rhood Day,when teams worldwide come together in person and virtually to give back to their communities. As a mission-driven organization, we believe strongly in a set of core operating values and one of them is to "Invest in Community." Each year, Nextdoor teams gather around the globe to bring this value to life through service.

In neighborhoods throughout the world, the Nextdoor community stepped away from our typical workday to do our part to ensure our communities can thrive. The team partnered with fourteen incredible non-profits and participated in a variety of service projects.

Nextdoor's HQ team in San Francisco gathered to support Project Open Hand, which provides medically tailored meals and groceries to elderly and homebound people in San Francisco and Alameda County. Nextdoor's East Bay team spent the day supporting the Alameda County Community Food Bank, which serves 6M pounds of food a month.

The New York team delivered meals to elderly residents in New York City with Meals on Wheels.

Nextdoor teammates gathered virtually to serve Code Tenderloin, which helps to find long-term employment for underserved communities in San Francisco.

The Austin team repaired and built dog toys for four-legged friends in the Austin community with Austin Pets Alive.

Nextdoor's London team gathered to support members of the Hackney community and lend a hand to the Hackney Food Bank.

The Chicago team assembled to ensure furry friends feel like they have a community they can rely on with Paws Chicago.
The LA Food Bank welcomed Nextdoor's LA team for a day of packaging essentials for the local community.
