For the 30th year, Boswell's Harley-Davidson is partnering with the MNPD for Saturday's Annual Toy Parade, the primary fundraising event for the police department's Christmas Basket Program benefiting Nashville families. The Toy Parade and Harley riders have raised hundreds of thousands of dollars over the past three decades to help ensure that those less fortunate have a meaningful Christmas.
The Toy Parade this year will stage outside First Tennessee Park (Sounds Stadium) on Rep John Lewis Way N. Registration begins at 9 a.m., kick stands up at 12 noon. The ride will proceed through downtown and end at Scoreboard Bar & Grill on Music Valley Drive for an after party. Special guest Bill Davidson, a descendent of the founding family of Harley-Davidson Motorcycles, will be the grand marshal for Saturday's Toy Parade.
"Middle Tennessee is loaded with great and caring motorcycle riders," said Bubba Boswell, President of Boswell's Harley-Davidson. "This event shows the community our passion for an outstanding cause. We are proud that our organization and the Metro Police Department have partnered together for three decades to make a difference for families in need."
Participating riders are asked to bring a new toy and/or make a cash donation. The money and toys will be used to support the police department's annual Christmas Basket Program, now in its 63rd year, through which police officers deliver food and toys to needy Nashvillians on Christmas Eve morning. Hundreds of men, women and children comprising more than 200 underprivileged families will receive surprise gifts of food and toys this year.
All riders and brands of motorcycles are welcome to take part in Boswell's Toy Parade.
