Neal Statement on Biden Administration’s Action to Defend North American Steel and Aluminum Industries

Ways and Means Committee Ranking Member Richard E. Neal (D-MA) released the following statement after the Biden Administration announced joint action with Mexico to safeguard North American steel and aluminum industries from China's unfair practices:

"The most pro-worker president is revitalizing key North American industries to protect our workers and national security, as well as strengthen supply chains. Our middle class was built in the steelyards and aluminum factories, and President Biden knows that better than anyone. While the prior administration left our workers vulnerable to China's exploitation, this administration is working with Mexico to level the playing field. When American workers get a fair shake, no one can compete."
