Suspect Arrested, Charged in Fatal Shooting at 15700 Baybriar Drive

July 2, 2024- Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the fatal shooting of a man that occurred at 15700 Baybriar Drive about 7:30 p.m. last Thursday (June 27).

The suspect, Barbara Jean Blue, 75, is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in the 400th District Court in Fort Bend County. A booking photo of Blue, courtesy of the Fort Bend County Sheriff's Office, is attached to this news release.

The identity of the deceased male, 66, is pending notification to family members by the Fort Bend County Medical Examiner's Office.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant B. Roberts and Detective J. Wallschlaeger reported:

Officers responded to a shooting at the above address and found the victim unresponsive with multiple gunshot wound and lying in the street. Houston Fire Department paramedics transported the victim to an area hospital in critical condition. Doctors later pronounced him deceased.

Through the course of the investigation, detectives learned the victim and his neighbor - Blue - got into a verbal altercation during which Blue shot the victim. Blue was arrested at the scene and charged for her role in the incident.

The investigation is continuing, with charges possibly being upgraded.
